“Too Bad, So Sad”: What Happened When Wilson Styles Was Sold a Solar System That Never Delivered
When Wilson Styles signed up for solar with Encore, it seemed like a great opportunity. They pitched him on a powerful system: additional rooftop panels and a Tesla Powerwall that would slash his electric bills and let him sell power back to the grid.
But from the moment the installation began, things went wrong. The panels were installed on the north side of his roof—essentially in the shade all day—and the Powerwall? Never delivered. Then Encore ghosted him entirely, only to later admit they were out of business.
“The simple truth is they lied about the entire process,” Wilson said.
No Sunlight, No Support, No Powerwall
Anyone familiar with solar energy knows that in the northern hemisphere, placing panels on the north side of a roof is ineffective at best. For Wilson, it rendered half his system practically useless.
“Not as bad as burying them in the backyard,” he joked, “but very, very close.”
When he tried to follow up, he got nothing but silence. Eventually, Encore sent a final message: they were out of business, and he was out of luck.

The Turning Point: Finding Prevost Law Firm
After months of trying to resolve the issue on his own, Wilson attended a webinar hosted by Prevost Law Firm. He saw case after case just like his—homeowners misled by solar companies and stuck with expensive, nonfunctional systems.
That was the turning point.
“I just decided I was going to bite the bullet and hire a law firm,” Wilson said. “Prevost was the one I’d seen dealing with exactly this issue.”
The Outcome: Debt Erased, Relief Delivered
While he still has non-working panels sitting on his roof, Wilson no longer owes a massive loan for a system that never delivered. The terms of his legal settlement are confidential, but the financial burden is gone.
“I’m reasonably happy. I no longer owe huge amounts of money for something I didn’t get. So that makes me happy.”
A Quicker-Than-Expected Resolution
Wilson’s case was resolved in about five months—a faster-than-average turnaround for solar litigation.
“It was well worth the wait,” he said. “Quicker than I was expecting, honestly.”
His Advice to Others: “They Know What They’re Doing”
If you’re thinking about hiring Prevost Law Firm, Wilson offers this advice:
“They know what they’re doing. They have good mediators, good attorneys, and the experience to get you a better outcome than you’d get on your own.”
If you’ve been misled, abandoned, or stuck with a solar system that doesn’t work, you may still have legal options.

My name is John Smith with Prevost Law Firm, and today I’m here with our client Wilson Styles. Wilson hired us to to fight for his, on behalf for his solar panel lawsuit, and, he’s been gracious enough to spend a few minutes with me today. So, Wilson, first start off by telling me the dream that Encore sold you and the, the nightmare that it turned into.
Well, Encore sold me the idea sold me the idea that they could put some additional solar panels on my roof and sell me a Tesla power pack, and that would allow me to, Tesla power wall, let’s be specific. Sell me to sell power back and, you know, lower or eliminate my electric bill.
And the simple truth of the matter is is that they lied
pretty much about the entire process. They could not fit eleven panels on my roof, so they ended up installing at least half of them on the north side of the building.
And then if anyone knows about solar panel, when you put solar panels on the north side of a building in the northern hemisphere, they don’t see the sun. So not as bad as them burying them in my backyard, but very, very close. And then, of course, I never ever got the Powerwall. They just basically installed the panels, and then they left.
And later told me that, hey. We’re out of business.
Too bad. So sad. Bad for you.
Oh, man. So how did being, stuck in that situation make you feel?
Enraged. Yeah. I bet. I bet.
So think about to when you first talked to us, what made you decide to hire Provo Law Firm?
Well, I I watched a, a seminar that you gave out, a web seminar talking about similar issues the that various people around the country had been facing and talking about the various, options that were available. And after struggling with trying to get the various parties involved to see reason, I just decided that I was gonna bite the bullet and hire a law firm. And Prevost was the one that I watched the seminar on where she they had been dealing with exactly this kind of issue. So that’s that was what made my decision for me.
Awesome. Awesome. Glad to hear that. So we can’t talk about the, the settlement prevents us from talking about the lender’s name or any terms about the settlement. But let me ask you this, how happy are you with the outcome?
Reasonably happy. I still have nonfunctional, power panels on my roof. I have to you know, they’re just sitting up there, taking up space. But I no longer owe huge amounts of money for something I didn’t get. So that makes me happy.
Nice. Nice. So a common question that we get is how long does the process take? You hired us back in October of twenty twenty four, and it’s now March of twenty twenty five. So that’s about five, six months. Was it worth the wait?
Yes. Actually, the the the outcome was well worth it. And it I was warned that it would take a while, but it was a quicker process than I was expecting.
Yeah. Yours is much quicker than most, so I’m I’m glad we got to that result. So last question. What would you say to somebody who’s thinking about hiring Provo Law Firm to help with their solar panel case?
Well, the Prevost Law Firm knows what they’re doing. So they they have experience in this kind of thing. They have good mediators and good attorneys to help them, reach a desired outcome for you, something that is less terrible than what the other parties involved would like to see.
That’s that’s great to hear, Wilson. Alright. Well, I really appreciate the time that you spent with me today. I’m so happy we got you some great results for your case, and I wish you, hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
Thank you very much.
