We feel honored that The Dallas Morning News recently featured our founder, Neal Prevost, and the work we do in helping homeowners across the country, misled or taken advantage of by deceptive solar companies.

Where It Started
As the article explains, Neal originally took on a single solar fraud case. This was after hearing repeated stories from homeowners who felt pressured into signing complex, high-interest solar contracts filled with false promises. What started as one case quickly turned into a full-time mission after Neal realized how widespread and serious the problem had become.
How It’s Going
Today, Prevost Law Firm focuses exclusively on solar panel fraud. In just a short time, we’ve taken on more than 2,100 cases across Texas and 11 other states. Many of our clients—especially seniors, disabled individuals, and low-income families—were promised tax credits, lower utility bills, or reliable backup power. Instead, they remained left with massive loans, incomplete systems, and contracts they didn’t fully understand.

The article also highlights how Neal and our legal team approach these cases differently. Rather than drawn-out class actions, we focus on efficient solutions such as loan cancellations, arbitration, and direct claims against sellers who engaged in deceptive sales tactics. In many cases, federal consumer protection laws also provide homeowners with rights when canceling contracts signed under misleading circumstances.
As Neal shares in the piece, while solar energy can absolutely provide benefits when done right, too many companies are still taking advantage of vulnerable homeowners. And unfortunately, this problem isn’t going away anytime soon:
“Five years from now, there’s going to be thousands of lawyers all over this. They’re just slow to pick up on it.”
We’re grateful to The Dallas Morning News for bringing more attention to this issue.
