At Prevost Law Firm, we’ve been getting a lot of questions lately from clients about the Equifax class action lawsuit specifically, whether it has any impact on their ongoing solar panel claims with our firm.
Let’s clear that up.
What Is the Equifax Class Action About?
The Equifax class action lawsuit involves allegations that Equifax has been improperly reporting solar panel loans on consumers’ credit reports. This could include loans held by many of our clients who are also pursuing arbitration for misleading or defective solar installations.
Our Position on the Lawsuit
As a firm, we’re not taking a position on whether Equifax is right or wrong. That’s for the courts to decide. But from a legal standpoint, we want to make one thing absolutely clear:

The Equifax class action has no impact whatsoever on your solar panel case with Prevost Law Firm.
Should You Join the Class Action?
If you believe Equifax has reported your loan incorrectly and it’s affecting your credit, then by all means we encourage you to join the class action. There’s no harm in pursuing that claim separately.
If you choose not to join, that’s fine too.
Either way, your arbitration case with us continues as normal.
No Conflict With Your Arbitration Case
Whether you participate in the Equifax lawsuit or not, it won’t affect your arbitration proceedings with us. Your solar panel claim is based on contract violations, performance failures, misrepresentations, and other specific issues that are entirely separate from what’s being addressed in the credit reporting class action.
