We recently spoke with our client, Karissa, about her experience with a disappointing solar panel installation and how the Prevost Law Firm helped her find a resolution.
Her story highlights the stress and financial strain that can come with faulty solar installations and the relief that a successful legal outcome can bring.
The Problem: Expensive, Non-Working Solar Panels
Karissa and her husband purchased solar panels from a company named Momentum.
However, the panels did not work often.

Karissa reported that they went back and forth with the company and didn’t have service most of the time.
The financial burden was significant. Karissa said they “spent a lot of money and didn’t get anything”. To make matters worse, she explained that her utility bills were actually higher with the solar panels than before. She went from having “regular light bills” to paying over $400 a month for electricity, in addition to over $300 a month for the loan.
This situation left Karissa and her husband “stressed out” and “angry”.
The installer’s responsiveness also became an issue. They stopped responding to Karissa and her husband’s attempts to contact them for help. At one point, the solar panels were out for the entire summer, from May until September, and they couldn’t get the company to do anything.
Finding the Right Help
Tired of paying for a service they weren’t receiving, Karissa’s husband researched law firms online and decided that the Prevost Law Firm seemed like “the best for what we needed”.
The Outcome: Relief and a Solution
Prevost Law Firm sued Karissa’s lender, and a settlement was reached.
While the specific terms of the settlement are confidential, Karissa was “ecstatic” with the result. The case was completed in about six months.
Karissa’s Advice to Others
When asked what she would say to someone considering hiring the Prevost Law Firm for their solar panel case, Karissa’s advice was clear:
Oh, I would say definitely do it. It’s worth your time, your money.
She noted that it required “not a lot of effort on our part” and that the process was “straightforward,” with the firm providing direction and advice.
