Promised $0 Power Bills But Paid $400 Monthly: The Fix That Finally Worked

John Smith of Prevost Law Firm recently sat down with a client, Jason, to discuss the resolution of his solar panel case.

Jason, a client of the firm, shared his experience with a solar installer who had promised a significant reduction in his electric bill, but didn’t deliver.

The Promise of Solar Savings

Jason’s installer approached him with an incentive to go solar: a free AC and heat unit. Jason explained that he had a large family, and given that this was right after the pandemic when the economy was poor, his primary concern was lowering his electricity costs.

“I told him point blank, I was like, ‘Man, I was like, look, let’s cut all the BS, you know, uh, is this going to lower my cost for electricity?'” Jason stated.

The installer promised to lower his electricity cost and even told Jason that the solar would replace his electric bill entirely, meaning he “would not have an electric bill”.

This sounded ideal to Jason, since his loan payment would be fixed for 25 years, and he wouldn’t have to worry about rising electricity costs.

The Reality of the Bills

However, as soon as the system was turned on, all communication from the installer stopped.

Jason quickly realized the solar system was heavily pulling power from the grid. When he finally managed to get in touch with the installer after about three months, they claimed the system worked as described. They said any problems were between Jason and the bank.

The reality was that the solar installation only lowered Jason’s electric bill by about $30.

With a monthly solar payment of $250, Jason still had an electric bill of $150, totaling $400 a month. Jason had been clear with the installer beforehand… If he still had an electric bill, he would only pay the one that kept his lights on.

Finding Help with Prevost Law Firm

Jason tried contacting the bank. The bank tried to get the installer to work with him. But the installer essentially said it was not their problem anymore.

Frustrated, Jason saw an advertisement for Prevost Law Firm and called.

Jason spoke with Neil for about 30 to 45 minutes. “He’s a really good dude and we hit it off,” Jason recalled. Neil said he could help, and “sure enough did,” aiding Jason 100% in getting out of the bind the installer created.

Prevost Law Firm sued the lender and reached a settlement on Jason’s behalf. When asked how happy he was with the results, Jason responded,

100% happy. Couldn’t be happier.

Jason’s Recommendation

When asked what he would say to someone considering hiring Prevost Law Firm for their solar panel case, Jason was clear. “I would definitely recommend it”.

He advised that if you are “in a bind and you were lied to or you were misled and they promised you one thing and fed you another, talk to Prevost. They work for me. They got me exactly what I needed”.
